The MT/MLT will participate in proficiency testing programs; demonstrate knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control, including proper use of PPE; and adhering to accreditation requirements. The “Tech” will contribute to the effective operation of the laboratory, including maintaining adequate stock; maintaining logs and records; demonstrating good oral and written communication, including required telephone identification; and assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory. The MT/MLT must participate in continuing education, comply with the hospital and departmental procedures and policies and assist physicians and nurses when necessary. The “Tech” will serve all age groups and perform additional tasks, as required to ensure laboratory operations. The MT/MLT will adhere to all Organizational Performance; Attendance; Unit Specific and Hospital Wide Education requirements, in accordance to Fort Washington Medical Center standards.
