Our Services

Community Outreach

Fort Washington Medical Center is concerned about the health needs of the communities we serve. Our community benefit activities are designed to improve the health within our communities and increase access to quality care. As a not-for-profit hospital, FWMC is required to conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) every three years.

In 2016, FWMC conducted a CHNA to identify health needs and develop strategies to improve health conditions in the communities we serve. To view a copy of the Fort Washington Medical Center Community Health Needs Assessment, click below. To request a copy of the CHNA, email prelations@nexushealth.org or call 301-686-9010 (ext.100).

Hear it from Our Patients

Jody Beard has suffered from knee pain for many years. Not anymore, thanks to knee replacement surgery through the Fort Washington Medical Center Joint Replacement Program.
This surgery has changed my life. I no longer lay on shopping carts for support or agonize when walking on concrete. After two knee replacements, now I am all over the place. I’m walking around the school where I work without pain. My granddaughter says I don’t walk like a penguin anymore. I have my surgeon and the FWMC staff to thank for that!
