07-15-2014

Fort Washington Medical Center (FWMC) now provides the latest in high-tech, MicroDose digital mammography with the Philips MicroDose System which offers a lower dose of radiation compared with other systems. The new system also ensures sharper image quality, faster, more comfortable exams, and quicker results - available within two business days.

FWMC, located at 11711 Livingston Road, Fort Washington, Md., has convenient hours and next day appointments for patient flexibility.

By offering the latest in MicroDose mammogram technology, FWMC hopes to encourage more women within their service area to follow the American Cancer Society’s recommendations for regular mammography screenings and annual check-ups.

“Mammography is the most effective method of early detection and we want to encourage women to get screened by enhancing their overall experience,” said Vimla Bhooshan, M.D., who heads the Diagnostic Radiology program at FWMC.

Hear it from Our Patients

Jody Beard has suffered from knee pain for many years. Not anymore, thanks to knee replacement surgery through the Fort Washington Medical Center Joint Replacement Program.
This surgery has changed my life. I no longer lay on shopping carts for support or agonize when walking on concrete. After two knee replacements, now I am all over the place. I’m walking around the school where I work without pain. My granddaughter says I don’t walk like a penguin anymore. I have my surgeon and the FWMC staff to thank for that!
