Nexus Health, Inc.

Nexus Health, Inc., is a healthcare management company based in Oxon Hill, Maryland. It is the parent company of Fort Washington Medical Center (FWMC), a 37-bed acute care hospital in Fort Washington, Maryland.

The Nexus Health Board of Trustees is entrusted with the care of the hospital to ensure its growth, financial stability and strategic direction.

Rooted in healthcare, Nexus Health, previously owned the Carolyn Boone Lewis Health Care Center, a 183-bed long-term care facility in Washington, D.C. Nexus Health sold the facility in December 2014 to Brinton Woods, a health and rehabilitation care provider.

Today, Nexus Health is solely focused on expanding Fort Washington Medical Center to accommodate the more than 43,000 patients the hospital serves annually.

Jody Beard has suffered from knee pain for many years. Not anymore, thanks to knee replacement surgery through the Fort Washington Medical Center Joint Replacement Program.
This surgery has changed my life. I no longer lay on shopping carts for support or agonize when walking on concrete. After two knee replacements, now I am all over the place. I’m walking around the school where I work without pain. My granddaughter says I don’t walk like a penguin anymore. I have my surgeon and the FWMC staff to thank for that!
